Incorporation of Companies

For companies incorporation, the easiest and fast method is to use the "Empresa na Hora" (On the Spot Firm), service available in the Centros de Formalidades de Empresas. 

All the following steps are not necessary when using the "Empresa na Hora". You just have to go to a CFE and all the support will be given there. In about one hour you will have you company incorporated, ready to start trading.

“Centro de Formalidades de Empresas”

The Centro de Formalidades de Empresas (CFE – Companies’ Formalities Centre) is situated in Loulé (Industrial Area, Building of Nera ). It aims at helping to incorporate, alter or extinguish companies.

In order to benefit from the CFE services, all acts must start and be completed in this very office.

Choosing the Legal Statute

Before incorporating a company, you must analyse carefully which type of company will be more convenient for the purpose to which it is meant to, the usual ones being the as follows:

• Private Limited Company (unipersonal) – One partner only – Minimum Share Capital: 5.000 €

• Private Limited Company – Two or more partners – Minimum Share Capital: 5.000 €

• Corporation  – Five shareholders minimum – Minimum share Capital: 50.000 €
