Commercial and Services Establishments
Through the
Decree-Law nr. 259/2007, of 17th July,
the setting up and alteration of establishments for the
trade or storage of foodstuffs, as well as
establishments meant for the trade of non-foodstuffs and
to provide services - whose running can involve risks
for people’s health and safety - was regulated: laying
down that the entity that runs the business must, within
20 working days before the opening or alteration, submit
a statement (proper
form)
to the relevant town hall and a copy to the
“Direcção-Geral da Empresa” (DGE: General Company’s
Division), in which the referred entity undertakes the
responsibility to meet the requirements suitable for
running the business or branch of trade in such
establishment.
The closing down of the establishments
must also be communicated by the running entity to the
town hall and to the DGE, until 20 working days after
the occurrence, using the
proper form
published through the
Order nr. 790/2007, of 23rd July.
The legal measures setting down the
requirements, to which the establishments, warehouses
and ancillary sections (embraced by the
Decree-Law nr. 259/2007 have to obey, are the
ones appearing in the list of the annexe of the
Order nr. 789/2007, of 23rd July.
The establishments covered by the
aforesaid system appear in the annexe of the
Order nr. 791/2007, of 23rd July.
