Micro, Small and Medium-sized Enterprises
After a large public consultation, the
European
Commission has adopted, on
6th May 2003,
a new definition of micro, small and medium-sized
enterprises (SME), which aims at promoting the growth,
the business spirit, the investments and the innovation,
as well as the cooperation and the clusters of the
independent enterprises.

These definitions shall be applied to all application
